Anesthall Topical Analgesic is available as a pain relieving cream for use as a topical agent that temporarily relieves minor aches and pains of muscles and joints associated with arthritis, simple backache, strains, bruises, sprains and sports injuries.


The US Food and Drug Administration defines this product (ANESTHALL) as an “External Analgesic Drug Product”. This is a product that is “A topically applied drug that relieves pain by depressing cutaneous sensory receptors. The product class is “OTC”. May be sold over the counter. It is also stated by the FDA that the product would be considered a “Topically [externally] applied drug that has a topical analgesic, anesthetic, or antipyretic effect by depressing cutaneous sensory receptors, or by stimulating cutaneous sensory receptors.”


Another definition included in proposed FDA regulations that also applies to our product is as a “Counterirritant. A topically [externally] applied drug that causes irritation or mild inflammation of the skin for the purposes of relieving pain in muscles, joints, or viscera distal to the cutaneous sensory receptors.”


The main active ingredient is Methyl Salicylate. It creates the warming sensation and the wintergreen scent. This occurs when the Methyl Salicylate is absorbed into the skin. It then dilates the capillaries closest to the skin increasing blood flow to warm the region. ANESTHALL, is quickly passed through the skin and its active ingredient blocks the pain receptors from the pain signals sent to this area by the Central Nervous System, therefore relieving the pain from Arthritis, painful muscles and joints. These may be associated with simple backache, arthritis, strains, bruises and sprains.
